Kevin Lynch

Chief Operating Officer

Kevin has extensive experience in growing successful online businesses in the for-profit, private education sector across the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Prior to joining Open Colleges, Kevin was head of marketing for the Think: Education Group. Prior to joining Think, Kevin headed up marketing for Australia’s leading provider of online and distance education, Thomson Education, that later re-branded to Cengage Education and in 2010, became known as Open Colleges.

Prior to this, Kevin held a number for senior marketing positions at Unilever and Enterprise Ireland, the trade development board of the Irish government. Kevin has a Masters in Marketing (Honours) degree from the University College Dublin and a Bachelor of Business (Honours) degree majoring in marketing and law from the University of Limerick.

Philip Kilic

Chief Recruitment Officer

Philip’s experience in the private education and training industry spans over 19 years. He previously held the position of Regional Director of SAE Global (Asian Operations); founded SAE’s franchising and licensing division and was integrally involved in the company’s rapid expansion of its Asian regional college portfolio. In addition, Philip served as key advisor to the board of Access Atlantech – one of India’s largest technology education groups. Prior to joining Open Colleges, Philip held the position of Sales and Marketing consultant to various private education organisations and worked as the Group Sales Director at Think: Education Group.

Greg Fordred

Chief Financial Officer

Greg has extensive experience in the private education sector having previously worked in senior executive positions at Think: Education Group, Kaplan Professional and Tribeca Learning. The breadth of Greg’s experience includes the management of Finance, Corporate Services, Human Resources, Facilities, Information Technology, Risk Management and Company Secretarial functions as well as corporate transactions.

Prior to working in the private education sector, Greg worked in the financial services industry in senior Finance positions and for seven years worked in the Chartered Accounting profession. Greg is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Secretary. He has a Bachelor of Business and postgraduate qualifications in company secretarial practice and corporate governance.

Kim Wright

General Manager Business, Finance and Services

Kim leads the Student Services and Systems Divisions, which includes Student Administrative Support, Learning Support, Work Placement Support and management of our key systems including our Student Management and Learning Management systems.

Kim has extensive experience and broad-ranging expertise in the education and training sector – particularly in quality service delivery, change management, business systems, project management and business process engineering. Prior to joining Open Colleges, Kim held senior management positions with Think: Education Group and IDP Education.

Simon Hitchick

Chief Learning Officer

Simon is a seasoned executive with leadership and management experience across the education and training sector. Simon has a strong track record of developing and managing quality assurance systems. In his most recent role as the General Manager of the National Audit and Registration Agency (NARA), Simon was responsible for overseeing the operations of NARA, making regulatory decisions relating to the registration and accreditation of RTO’s, providing advice to TVET and liaising with relevant State, Territory and Australian Government officials. Prior to this, Simon held a senior training role with St John Ambulance Australia. He holds a Graduate Certificate in Management from the University of Technology Sydney and an Advanced Diploma of Business Management from the University of Ballarat.

At Open Colleges, Simon is accountable for the overall quality of the learning experiences of our students. This entails the provision of educational leadership and management, ensuring compliance, benchmarking quality against best practice, attaining high levels of academic governance and industry engagement. The Heads of the various Faculties at Open Colleges report to Simon.

Michael Allara

Chief Strategy Officer

Michael is responsible for leading a team of course development professionals to create new cutting-edge courses and to ensure that Open Colleges’ current courses reflect the latest industry trends and developments.

Prior to joining Open Colleges, Michael has spent over 10 years working in digital information, content, and publishing industries with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Ninemsn, and the Dymocks group of companies. He has also built up extensive experience as a consultant helping organisations with consumer-focused digital production and product development. Michael has a Bachelor of Commerce with majors in Information Systems and Marketing.
