Exciting New Courses Launched at Open Colleges

June 18th, 2013 by marketing-it

As part of our commitment to continual growth and improvement, Open Colleges has recently developed three innovative new courses in some of the most in-demand areas of study.

Working alongside industry professionals, these three courses have been added to the suite of over 150 accredited and general interest courses that Open Colleges offers flexibly to its students, ranging from everything from accounting to aged care.

Youth Work

Successful youth workers aim to make environments for young people more secure so that young people find a safe place to develop as human beings and as members of society. The CHC41812 Certificate IV in Youth Work gives students the unique opportunity to study a particular stream of interest; alcohol and drugs; group work; counselling; or the generalist stream, allowing students to take a broad study view of youth work.

Photography

A team favourite here at Open Colleges, the CUV40311 Certificate IV in Design (specialising in Photography)  has already been in popular demand for its high-quality introduction to the digital world of publishing images. Created in collaboration with John Hollingshead, an internationally-acclaimed photographer, this robust course takes students through a sequence of publishing and digitally enhancing images, with the aim of a completed portfolio to display and showcase their work upon completion of the course.

Health Services Assistance

The HLT32512 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance is a nationally recognised qualification and could enable students to find entry-level work as an Assistant in Nursing or Nursing Support Worker. One of the advantages of this course is that students have the choice between two elective streams; acute care or the generalist stream. Both streams provide pathways into nursing or allied health, for those looking for higher level qualifications.

But wait, there’s more!

That’s not all Open Colleges has planned! Over the coming months, more courses are being added, improved, enhanced and created, all with collaborations with some of Australia’s best trainers and industry professionals. Look out for courses starting in Interior Design, Animal Care, Events Management and more. Watch this space.
